I did get the crank handle out...... for 10 solid mins but he wouldn't start the dizzy is so flogged out it holds no timing and only runs right when on full rpm Besides, without a front bumper with the crank handle slot to support it it ain't all that easy to crank

Dave. Driving the Wasp is the plan for this year I have done that drive in Donkey a few times now and he LOVES it. That's one of the scenic detours I took on my random yet somewhat epic solo road trip to Albury last year

Starter motors dropped off. Left on Greg & Liz's Walkway near front door. Have marked them which to try first.

I haven't been able to move around as much as I would have liked. I'm having a cleanout. 40 years of collecting personal papers, part numbers, catalogues on cars, photos. Nearly finished. Personal papers done. Getting there on the rest. Dave.

Wowzers it's been ages since I've been on the forum and it seems I have missed heaps of chin wagging. Yeah Dave the starters have been a life saver. Donkey starts, the Dubbo Wasp starts and now one of my other teardrop sedans starts Happy days I have also acquired another Wasp ute (from Tingha wreckers - found by Luke Smith) will post some pics in the next few days

Ahh, goodonya for saving that one mate! Nice to know its safe. Luke told me about it and I was keen for a road trip, but Tracy was somewhat less keen. I suppose given that I have 4 and am courting another one locally, and we still have a Florian to collect, maybe she does have a point. Maybe. Look forward to the pics. Have fun! Matt.

When Luke first put it on the OSJCC Facebook page I was keen as mustard but Dean (Gunna) was quicker to pounce so I stepped aside. A little while after Dean informed that he was no longer in a position to get it so I made some calls and left some messages but had no luck initially. Glen (the wreckers owner) had just been through kidney transplant surgery and was a bit hard to get and his offsider was of no help at all. But some of us QLDers were road trippin' to Tamworth for the Shannon's car show with the ICCA and as per our road trip tradition we went the scenic way over 3 days which included a detour stop in Tingha to check out the ute first hand. I looked rough as guts but to our surprise it has virtually no rust (little bit in left sill anad that's all I've found so far) and has bulk of it's proper Wasp stuff.... like bench seat in good nic, radiator looks good too, Wasp front guards, org headlight surrounds with 65 sedan grill but Wasp grill badge, only 2 org rims and sadly no badges. It has a later sedan engine in it too and chassis has a bend between the cab and tray (must have been overloaded at some point) but it is an easy fix as it's only a very slight bend. I've already ordered new front end suspension and all new brake parts so may not be too long before it's on the road ??? photo's will be coming in it's own thread

I found out about that ute last year before the Albury nationals. On my trip down I stayed in Inverell. Spent a day there and went out and looked at a couple of cars in Delungra and the museum in Inverell. The following day I went to Tingha and somehow I missed the turn to the wrecking yard. I doubled back and didn't find it , so I continued on. Although Tingha isn't a very big place, the roads are very narrow. If you took the wrong road there is very little room to do a youee with a trailer in tow. I did a mental markdown to look for it another time. I don't have to now. All I've got to do is pull into Sticky's and have a gecko at it and all of his other cars. Dave.

And you'd be welcome to anytime Dave, day or night, if I'm not there just let yourself in and make yourself at home (can leave you out a key ) Although 2/3rds of my cars are still at my brothers place so there wouldn't be many to see at home other than Donkey and the 2 Wasps. The GT will be there next month and put on the rotisserie but the others will stay at Rod's place for a couple more months. On another note... I went and checked out "Billy" a one family owned Teardrop (dark blue) near Ipswich yesterday. I have chatted a couple of times with Damian on the phone but only just yesterday had the opportunity to meet him and his car face to face and be introduced properly. His little sedan is STUNNING to say the least. Bought new for his grandmother, then handed down to his father. His dad restored it back to it's former glory in 1993 (other than the interior which is showing some age in the front seats) and it has since been handed on to Damian. He was faced with the tragic possibility of having to sell the car as the brakes have gone on it and he has no idea how to fix it so just sits in the shed never being driven and enjoyed but I (and a few others) have convinced him not to let it go, or out of his family yet. So in the coming month I will be setting aside a couple of days to spend with Damian helping to get Billy back on the road again. Most likely will just go on club rego but at least it will be a new lease on life for his beautiful little Bellett.

Nice! You are a good person, Sticky. Well done. Hopefully we will see Billy one year at the Nationals. Matt.

Both of them are school teachers (with a young family) so it might be a challenge but it's not an impossibility. You guys are proof of that and it wouldn't be the same without you all there. Gotta get Billy on the road again first

Still the best looking head light surrounds of all the Belletts,in my opinion, bit of polish and that chrome would shine
