Very thorough resto, great to see. Hope all goes well with the registration process.

I wonder if you could measure the distance between centres of the caliper bracket for me? ie the distance between the 2 mount holes for the Caliper.

Looking good Peter. That rear end looks like mine on the white GT last month. Have fun putting the diff in at that height. With the swinging arm down the axle shaft is at an angle and won't allow the inner shaft flanges to clear. Will need to
jack the arms up flat. Surely someone in South Aus. has those rack brackets spare. Same part from '63 to '72.
If you lower the hoist down so the arms rest on a couple of stands may do the trick.
Glenn. Have you got that caliper mount bracket shown in that pic. of Peters. ?? Isuzu deleted it '70/'71. maybe earlier. They produced a new type of stub axle that incorporates the caliper mounts and are left and right handed.

I have never looked that close to be honest but I assume its the combined type.

I've got a '72 parts book and was looking at the calipers and the way they were mounted. It doesn't show the rectangular bracket in the pic. Then I noticed a change in the part number for the stub axle and the diagram looked like a Gemini stub or any of the late model Toyotas and Mitsubishi's. No change to the bearings, seal and disc rotor.

An update on the PR90. Rear suspension is almost complete, new rear leaf has been manufactured and installed, re-zincing of brake lines and new hoses also have been installed. The company who made the front and rear brake hoses actually had the details of the brake components for a PR90 on file along with pictures and a service list for each item so we were able to go through the wheel cylinders, front callipers and master cylinder to check availability of parts, they have everything needed to do rebuilds so I will be dropping those items off shortly. I know Dave had all these items refurbished years ago but sitting around it is feared they have just rusted up so we will not know until we dismantle and better to be safe than sorry.
I have ordered new coil springs from Lovells for both the front and rear. They will be married up to Koni shockers. The specs for the leaf and the rest of the suspension components were given to me by a very knowledgeable member of this forum and I thank him for all the help he has given me with this.
I have installed the refurbished bushes into the upper and lower control arms. The top ones are easy to push out and get back in but I had to make a spacer tool for the bottom arms to fit them back in. They are very similar in removal and installation process to the holden torana arms which I have had some experience with but it is not something I would recommend for the novice to have a go at as you could quite easily bend the lower arms. The front suspension is now mostly in the car except for hubs, shocks and coil springs.
Once this is complete We will be sending out the differential and gearbox for new bearings and seals and some items for re-chroming. I have had windscreen seals made that fit the original stainless strip but unfortunately they were made too long and will go back to the manufactured to have 45 - 50 mm taken out of the length and then re-joined.
Once I have completed all of the above then it will be off to the trimmers, so we are progressing.

Great job. Will be a shame to get it all dirty.

What are the specs for the front and rear coils? ie spring rates. My Sport has 'stage 3' coils in it from Japan and i'm thinking to change them to something softer.

Re: the diff. I had my Sport diff "re-coed" a couple of years back with new bearings, shimmed etc. The guy told me that the original sized main bearings are near impossible to get now. He got two sets at the time, one for my diff and I think another member got the other set. He said he had to search all over Aust. to get those sets.

There is another bearing available, but it's narrower and probably can be fitted, if spacers are made to suit.

That is a great resto
I imagine it had the original carpets in it if not and if you want to replicate I still have the original pieces to model from
They have shrunk with age but a good starting point
From memory that car had black seats and red carpets
If you chose red a very similar carpet is from a VH SLE Commodore made by a carpet company in Melbourne Knox Auto Carpets
They came with good quality cut pile

Thanks for the carpet offer flying, yes the car did originally have red or burgundy carpet but that is long gone I only have a couple of remnants left. I do not think that colour would go well with the current car colour so we will probably go black. My trimmer is a wiz with making everything from scratch so we should be OK.
Car will not get dirty as I do not think it will ever see a wet road again.
Josh I believe you may be coming out here with Craig and Chris in the not too distant future, look forward to catching up.

It has been a little while since my last post so I thought I would update you with the progress on the GT. More zincing and refurbishment of some parts and of course more assembly. I have replaced the quarter vent window seals with new items and of course like everything I touch at the moment it took a while to complete. The frames still have to be cleaned up and fitted to the doors. Tony Iglio has been busy making some more bushes, he has refurbished the gear box mount and made a new rear leaf spring bottom mount. If you need these parts the tooling has been paid for all you need to do is ring Tony. With the gearbox mount you will need to provide you old mount and he will refurbish that. He is busy now making the top leaf spring mount and the end of leaf spring bushes as per picture. Some of the parts had to go out to people for repair work and that has taken time. I have found a gentleman in the Barossa Valley (old school panel beater - 83 years of age) and he specialises in repairing stainless and aluminium trim. He has knocked the dents out of the grill sections, sill panel strips and the aluminium scuff plates. He also repaired a very bad dent in one of my stainless steel door trim pieces. With the COVID everything is taking longer than usual as there appears to be more people doing restoration work at the moment. I have stripped the engine in readiness of taking it to Bendigo to have all the machine work done and pistons made. The cam has to go to Clive Stenlake in Fern Tree Gully for grinding as he still has the Bellett profiles. Of course this has been delayed with border closures etc and would like to think we can get across some time in April May 2021. The coil springs for the front are currently under order with Dobinsons springs in Rockhampton but they will not be ready for delivery until the end of march. I pulled the pin on lovells as it just became to hard to get what I wanted. There are a lot of parts out with the chrome platers , they have had the bits since December and i expect to pick them up at the end of march. As I said earlier there are huge backlogs out there and with everybody being locked down for some period of time they have decided to start work on their projects, all my usual suppliers inform me that they are flat out.

I have attached some before and after pictures of some items and of course some pictures of the car in its current state.

Hi Peter.
I was just trolling through you pics. Very impressed with the project thus far.
On the rack mounts I noticed you haven't put the wire locks onto the bolts. Is it a job to do down the track
or were you not aware of them.?
I've just replaced my rack bushes with the rack still installed. I didn't remove the tie rod ends. A large screwdriver
on one end at a time leaves enough room to get the bush in. Biggest pain was to put the wire locks on while
the engine and other parts were in close proximity. Suggest that you do it before you install the engine.

Hi Flying,
I am using Delway for the chroming. I chose them because they do die cast repairs and my grille badge has a couple of broken bolts on it which they can fix. Apparently A Class are just as good for chroming but I believe they do not do die cast repairs
