I found this book listing on Amazon Japan some time ago and haven't had enough money burning a hole in my pocket for it and the other things I'd like to put into an order (Crazy Ken Band Bellett song CD for $40).

The sample text on the page makes it sound a little like a diary of the trip. Of course it's in Japanese. Not sure how much would be specifically car related.
Sounds like the guy departed from Yokohama Harbor on September 11, 1968 in a Bellett GT for a trip through 46 countries, 160,000 km, and 3 years and 8 months.

That's pretty cool.

I wonder if he came to Australia?

Or St Louis, Missouri.

Amazon will let you view a larger version of the picture, but not right-click and download it.

So... with a print-screen, a pasting into MS Paint then some croppage, here is the bigger version:

What I want to know is... what the hell happened to the back quarter of that car. Um, where is it?

Cheers,

Dave

Check this out, homeboys!

No sooner had BULLITT dredged up this old thread that a weird coincidence occurred.

Around the same time, I made friends on Facebook with Hideki, a Bellett GT owner in Japan who traded a few pictures with me.

He showed me his model collection, which included a scale train set. Nice stuff.

So yeah, CHECK OUT THE POSTER!
