Hi guys, Farmer really does love the old TX Isuzu truck and I have to admit, I think they look pretty cool too! Here's one I've seen on Yahoo Japan. The price is about $10.00 and from what I can gather, it's actually a CD of bus noises. Someone who can actually read Japanese may be able to straighten me out on that one, but the reality is that Japanese people really do like some weird stuff sometimes, so if it is a pile of bus noises, that would not surprise me. Here are the pics: Attachment:

For your enjoyment! Cheers, Dave

Thanks Dave, I hadn't seen this pic before. This is the TXD series that superseeded the TX series later in the 60's. The only exterior difference is that smiley grille, the bonnet, guards, badges & blinkers are all in common. The interior, too, is very similar, although the speedo appears to have been changed. Notice the lever under the dash behind the gearstick - it's a valve lift for stopping the motor. I can still see brother Gary holding it up to let the starter spin the motor freely, then dropping it to let the big diesel (6.1 litre) burst into life with a plume of black smoke. Still love the smell of diesel. One will turn up.................. Cheers, Matt.

No sure how this will look, but here is a scan from an owner's manual I bought on ebay which shows the first TXD 50 (1964). The only difference to Dad's is the one-piece windscreen. Just so you know what you're all watching out for! Cheers, Matt.

And I bet you this truck is still doing his rounds. That is why I love a Isuzu as well. They are tough and can't die easily.

This is how they make good use of Isuzu in Japan! But this one turns out to be a classic converted into a school bus in a truck frame.
