Hi all.
Gary Carter is having trouble with side strip clips letting go, so today he tracked down some replacement clips from Rare Spares. We tried them and they are spot on.
2 sizes, one for each style.

These are for '64 to '66 (early) sedans - Teardrop.

These are for '66 1/2 to '70 sedans - twin stack & tripple strip taillights. These have the bonus of little plastic tabs that go between the strip & the paintwork, protecting it & stopping rattling.

To update this thread, I made some enquiries today regarding these clips. They are no longer being produced as a set so whatever is on shelves is the last.
However they may be purchased individually for what works out as roughly the same price. I just ordered 34 clip+rivets at a total cost of $68. This will do the whole car (1967 sedan)

Good hunting Matt!

Do you know what door window weather seals suit our cars? GT length
I have heard that a Toyota profile is similar.
Cheers, Lewis

I use corolla one i get from phills they are too long the seceret is to mark the length you want and cut them down with a grinding stone on a bench grinder. The top bit has wire in it as soon as you nick the wire stop grinding [make sure you nick it] so you don't effect the top if runs a razor blade down the left over. Now run the bench grinder wheel lighly up and down the wire to warm it up a little. When it's warm you can peal the wire away and break the wire. This will give you the wire section where the glass goes and the soft tails each end to go under the quarter glass and the tail to go under the screw.

I used some of those plastic ones on my 1966 sedan but had to trim the little wings off!

Only noticed that after I'd already put one on... it was hard to trim off without trimming off the paint, let me tell you.

Then the strips still moved fore and aft, so I stuck a blob of gunk (can't remember what; may have been silicone) on each one just to stop them moving around.

Pretty sure they were the same clips, but!
