Hi everyone
This 1938 Pontiac isn't actually mine, it is shared by the family. It belonged to my grandfather who imported it new as a cab-chassis and had Holden's (coachworks as it was then) build the body in the panel van style. It was rediscovered disintegrating in a farm yard by the family and restored during the late 60s and early 70s. It has made many trips to Bendigo swap meeting over the years. For a big car, it is sooooo simple and easy to drive - light (and somewhat vague) steering, nice big hydraulic brakes and a beautifully torquey old side valve motor. The only upgrades have been a panhard rod on the rear and holden one ton shockers. Think of driving a small truck!!

A nice old car mate, and one family owner! Good history. Love that torquey lope, my broth (Bembokabellettbloke) had a pair ('34 & '35) of straight 8 Hudsons for many years - just leave 'em in top gear!
Thanks for showing, Matt.

Straight 8's would be amazing.
you are right there Matt. Even this surprises in top gear (3rd). We really only use second to take off then into third and it's almost like an auto after that. We never have to change down to negotiate roundabouts.
