Hi everyone I thought I'd post this one to challenge your knowledge of pre 1970 foreign four cylinder "sports coupes". Have a go, don't be fearful of not being correct as it is an unusual breed. Hint: it is not American or Iranian and I don't think it was sold widely in French Equatorial Guinea. Andrew Attachment:

This one's for Davo...Borgward/Hansa/Goliath 1100 flat 4 contraption? Looks like a later model, not a Goliath GP900, but a bit hard to tell without the trim. Came in 2-door sedan, wagon and coupe form, even a cab forward delivery van.
Cheers, Duane

Congratulations Davo
I didn't intend to make you wait this long, as I am moving house to one with a bigger garage (yeah!) and have been moving all my garage tools and bellett stuff all day.
You guys are good.
I thought they were relatively unknown in Australia.
It is a 1959 Borg Ward Hansa Tiger Sport known as the Goliath in USA, flat four 1100 well done Duane!! And you were right about the various configurations.
It belongs to my brother who is doing his second resto about 30 years after his first and getting the front LH quarter cleaned up by someone who didn't give way. I'll put up another mystery one soon. I might have to start giving prizes - like second hand G150 pistons?? Andrew

Aha, ya can't trick a bloke who is restoring a Bond Equip GT! I admit I had no idea! And it's the same age as me, so I probably should have. Cheers, Matt.

Hehe...car-nerd alert. This thread must be proof that I didn't waste all my time reading car books in my youth!?!
I used to know a chappy who owned a Tiger when I was young, plus I drove past a house every morning on my way to uni which was littered with the things. We tried in vain to get the old lady to part with 'em, but in the end the whole lot went to the scrap yard. Sigh. So to with a cab-chassis Express I looked at once.
There was a wagon for sale on eBay (just around the corner from me) only a few weeks back, plus an early sedan in Victoria. So, they pop up very occasionally.
Nerd over, and out.
Cheers, Duane

Cheers, Duane It had the same 1100cc flat four from the 1959 Express van! Joe
