What a top day. A nice reaxed day with just short of 200 japenese cars entered in the show and shine, from the sixties to current. We sat around talked belletts watching cars compete in the sprints with a prince skyline to current skylines, lancers ect going hard. Then after lunch we were let loose for a few laps/cruise well it was supposed to be a slow one but with four gt's cruising misbehaving we got a little quicker each lap and getting flagged a few times the temptation was too much but to fang now and then :P bloody awsome. Even with thought of poor patches in which we have been doing roof repaires from his spill at lakeside over 35 years ago i just had to give it a little burst through the s bend's with a few power slides i blaming Lewis and Gerry for egging me on especially Lewis bloody hoon.
congradulations to Gerry for picking up a trophey for peoples choice for the 60's era.there was some tough competion out there one being a mazda r100 that was perfect in every way it won best original as well as best over all this thing was smick.

This is what makes rebuilding, restoring and rescuing these cars such worthwhile fun.
Keep posting, because this gives those of us still working on our cars encouragement to reach our goals.
Many thanks.

Cheers
Rob

Thanks for the photos Wasp65.

They all look fantastic and a credit to the owners.
A few sedan racers would really add to the line up!!

TWO WORDS TO THOSE WHO ATTENDED, BLOODY FANTASTIC!!, WOW, how I wish I was there. GREAT photos, keep em comin!!! :D
NSW Japanese Event would be great also, however no one seems interested!! Probably the same problem as Brett had in VIC.
When the cars are lined up for photos correctly as in these photos, they have a lot more impact. In a line up like that and in model, date order, they look even better. :o

Great effort from those people restoring the Wasps!! 8-)
DM.

If it wasn't for a couple of considerate galant owners that offered to move we would not have had these photo's.All but one car belonged to the same club and the organizer of the event arranged for this car to be parked with us also. This all made a better day.

With these type's of Events it is better if ALL cars can arrive together as with the way Coona has been arranged, then under normal situations the cars get parked together without any interference from other Clubs or cars.

On thing I did not say in my previous post is, Peter Lyons would not be able to take the smile off his face to see his car out there now!!

Re Convoy arriving together
Maybe some people choose a more spectular entrance by arriving as a single
car & driver , quite often gets more oooh's & aaaah's.

Yeh, Gotcha Ken. :x
In Sydney we meet prior to the event and drive in together as you have planned in Coona from the accommodation on SAT.
Good organisation.
