Hello All
Just found this site and it is great to see some names from the past.

My Name is Andrew Hamilton and I ran a bellett 1500 in the NSW State Rally Championship 1n 1981. I was a member of The Bellett Isuzu car club at that time.
I remember some of the people such as Dave Waldon, Alan Linton-smith, Geoff Pearce, I certanly remember George Steeden as he did panel work on my car and in later years serviced the liferaft on my boat also Tom and Julie Amos the club president at the time was Barry somebody but i just can"t rember his last name (age is a bastard)

I do have som photos if anyone is interested.

Cheers Andrew

Welcome Andrew

This is a great place for Belletters and it draws them like a magnet (no rust!)
Some old pics would be fantastic to see as well as competition wisdom. I support Gt Orp's sentiments about a journey back to the 60's for parts. Is your Delorean a wagon?

A word of warning, at some time a particular member will ask if you also have a .......... Morris Marina. If you do, please answer in the affirmative and we won't hold it against you

Delorean's are not as rare as you might think there were almost 10,000 made in mostly in 1982 before the company went belly up.
Mine is a private import with less than perfect RHD conversion. my intention is to return it to left hand drive 1n 2012 and run it on club plates.

As for the station wagon whatever you are on double the dose

Cheers Andrew

Sorry Andrew some of us here are on another planet. I think yp is hoping if you go back to the 60's you will get more parts into a wagon. We will settle for a trailer.
we do apologise for sick sense of humour .

Hi Capriguy

I guess as a real enthusiast you get a bit tired of the time machine stuff, with everyone thinkng they know all about the Deloeran because they watched some movies.

As a young guy in the seventies I read all the car mags and followed the story of them, thinking that they were a great concept with John Delorean hailed as an innovative entrepreneur. One thing that sticks in my mind, apart from the business and design ingenuity , was that being made of stainless steel, they even came with a steel wool polishing cloth!!

We'd love to see some old photos of your Bellett days.

Hello Andrew, Attached are a couple of photo,s from a BBQ, show and shine, a couple of years ago. Sorry you car did not appear fully though it is good memories. I recall back then you were toying with the idea of making a Bellett left hand drive for rallying. I am sure you had many good rallies with the Bellett. What eventually happened with your car.

Regards Geoff.

wow You remember me falling of the mast of the boat that was 1984. My back is realy good and gives me almost no trouble at all which is amazing given that i fell 52 feet. I set off the metal detectors at airports though.

The taillights on the red car I can't remember where they came from I have a feeling they were on the car when I bought it.
That car was damaged beyond repair in 1983 at a rally in Canberra and the left hand drive one I was building was a sports sedan but was never finished I will post a photo of the unfinished projcct when i get a chance to scan it in.

Thank you for posting those photos I have some from the same day I think. Who is the Bloke without the shirt in the Photo?

Cheers Andrew

Hey, Andrew, Shirtless guy is a YOUNG Warren Degnan. Yes I still see George and Kath often, George has built a V8 MK1 Escort sports sedan, for himself and son Darren to race at NSW race meetings, with good results, its great to find many people that had the same interests again. I have also caught up with David Waldon in the past years.
Regards Geoff

I haven't seen George in a long time But I Don't think he would mind me posting this photo Him and Kath and Darren .These photos are frozen moments in time and it is hard to think that almost 30 years have gone by since we were doing this and that the Kid in the photo now drives sport sedans and probably has children of his own.

By the way Lynne sends her regards to all.

Cheers Andrew

Hi Andrew,
I too was in the club about that time. The President was Barry Hayden who STILL lives at the same address in Doonside. I also benefitted from George's paintwork tallents, (twice) about the time 2-Pak was a new invention. Remember Ted Freeman? He did all manner of parts supply & repair work at ultra cheap prices for us just outa school types.
Looks like I better go album digging.
Fun days.
Matt Smith. (Formerly of St Marys & Doonside.)
