hi guys, just started looking for a head gasket for my ratter as its leak from the head gasket is slowly turning into a river of oil! Now i have asked my local auto stores, Motor traders, Repco and Auto pro. But so far no luck. Even got them looking for real early chev luv ones! but so far they keep coming back to the G161Z head gaskets.
Any one know somewhere i can source one or two (one for my 1600 im rebuilding!) at a reasonable cost?

part numbers u need are:
head gasket only: AJ 150.
VRS kit: CJ 151.
these are "federal mogul" brand numbers.

as to whether they are still available....???????????????????????????????? but will at least give a starting point that u can cross-reference to other brands.

cheers.

the club over here used to get them made.... but i highlight the "used to".

i think it was "AA Gaskets" that made them, but they won't do small runs anymore, and nobody has ever chased a new suppiler....

"gt orphanage" is rebuilding engines.... where do yours come from greg???

now you make me feel guilty cj151's i got from bursons they had 5 left so i bought them  busted. i only have one spare. If you cant get 1 i can send one of these to specialised gaskets and have one made probably the same price. I would send you one to get you on the road again if you pay for the new one's to be made as it takes a few weeks.
If anyone from sa will be in brisbane tomorrow they can take it back ?

Hi all
there's a specialty place that advertises in Australian Classic Car magazine which makes gaskets off a supplied pattern. i had one made about 5 years ago. i'll go back through my records and see if I can find them and post up details.

alternatively, last year I got one from Dalby Auto parts in Qld. ph: 0746725100. It was an original NOS.

Try " HJ Gaskets " in North Warrandyte Victoria. He hand cuts gaskets to suit. Does a good job.

G'day,
I have three AJ150 gaskets and six AJ140 (original G150-1 gaskets not monotorque, still with the little ricepaper tags on them). You can have your choice if you still need gaskets. I'm in SA.
Regards,
Steve
