All right, as requested, more blasts from the 1970's past.
1) The Red Datto 1600 is a bloke called Darryl Rowney, the rally is the 1975 Don-Capasco in Canberra
2) the Lancer is driven by a bloke called Wal Pywell, also 1975 Don Capsaco
3) can't remember who is in the 180B but gee it's a nice shot - Girlock Rally, NSW, from about 1976
4) 120Y is driven by a bloke called Bob Watson who was pretty well known in the 1970s, rally is the 1977 Castrol International.

Ok so today we have
1) David Balmain, Lancer, 1977 Castrol International
2) Wayne Bell, Galant, 1975 Don-Capasco
3) Darryl Rowney, Datsun 1600, 1977 Castrol International - not he didn't hit the Post - in fact amazingly no-one did
4) Ross Dunkerton, Datsun 260Z, 1977 Castrol International. Dunkerton was National champ for several years in Z cars, and he always drove them like that
